Resveratrol in Acai Berry

Looking for the fountain of youth? Well, we haven't found that yet but the next best thing might be something that extends your life significantly if you start taking it now. It's called resveratrol and it's found in such things as red wine, acai berries and even lesser known plants such as the Japanese knotweed.

In recent scientific findings, as described in the video on the left, mice were given resveratrol and when tested against regular mice on a treadmill, they were able to run twice as far.

Scientists say this effect can be seen in humans if resveratrol is consumed in high enough frequency.

The Wikipedia article on Resveratrol states:

In mouse and rat experiments, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, blood-sugar-lowering, chelating and other beneficial cardiovascular effects of resveratrol have been reported. Most of these results have yet to be replicated in humans. In the only positive human trial, extremely high doses (3–5 g) of resveratrol in a special proprietary formulation have been necessary to significantly lower blood sugar.

What the Italians have been doing for centuries has been paying off health-wise and scientists were dumbfounded as to why until these recent findings were discovered. The high amounts of red wine consumed provides a high enough amount of resveratrol to low incidence of heart disease, diabetes, cardiovascular inflammation and cancer.

Most recently, the acai berry supplement market has boomed and people have noticed that the capsules contain a significant amount of resveratrol. Most notably in the product Acai RezV, the amount of resveratrol is significant enough to make a huge difference in the lifespan of those that consume it.

  • Resveratrol prolongs life and fights age-related diseases (diabetes, alzheimers and more)
  • Resveratrol is one of a group of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols found in red wine that has been reported to have anti-inflammatory as well as anticancer properties
  • Resveratrol may counter type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, a new study shows

Of course, the best reason to take resveratrol in pill form is to avoid the side effects of alcoholic intake in large doses.
